What You Need to Know

Session Length

The duration of one session depends on the size of the treated area. For small areas such as the Upper Lip, the session can take 5 minutes or less, while for larger areas such as Full Legs, it may take up to 1 hour.

Treatment Intervals

We recommend a 4-week interval for laser treatments on the face, and 5-6 weeks interval for all other body parts.

Minimum Number of Sessions

A minimum of 6 to 9 sessions will be needed for Laser Hair Removal treatment.

What You Need to Know

Pre-Treatment Care

  • Discontinue any photo-sensitive oral medications, such as antibiotics, for 2 weeks prior to appointment
  • Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds and spray tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment
  • Do not tweeze, pluck or wax the area to be treated for 3 weeks prior to treatment
  • Shave the entire area the night before the appointment

Post-Treatment Care

  • Avoid UV exposure for 2 weeks post-treatment / using a broad spectrum SPF 50 or higher is important when receiving laser treatments
  • If blisters occur, do not puncture / if skin is broken, apply an antibiotic ointment until healed
  • Exfoliate treated areas to minimize risk of ingrown hairs
  • Shave the area 7-10 days after the treatment

Laser Hair Removal Contraindications

If you have experienced or are currently subject to any of these conditions, we strongly advise you not to proceed with the treatments as we prioritize our clients’ safety at all times.

  • Pregnant or Breastfeeding
  • Have tanned skin or recently sun-exposed skin; or recently got a spray-tan
  • Applied photo-sensitizing topical medications or taken oral photo-sensitizing medications
  • Have taken Accutane within the past 6 months

Frequently Asked Questions

The lasers target the pigment found inside the hair follicle. The pigment absorbs the laser beam which is then transformed into heat, which results in destruction of the hair follicle. Most of the follicles are destroyed permanently and the rest will have delayed growth.
The darker and thicker the hair is, the better. Laser is not effective on white, grey, red and blond hair because it contains less pigment.
Laser Hair Removal permanently reduces hair but does not permanently remove it. You can expect 80%-95% of hair reduction after a full course of treatment.
It depends on the individual since everybody has a different level of pain tolerance. But our Soprano Ice Platinum machine uses Alma Laser’s SHR method, which is the only clinically proven method of Laser Hair Removal that is virtually painless.
We work with Diode Laser – Alma Soprano Ice Platinum.
No. Unlike waxing, Laser Hair Removal requires complete shaving of the areas to be treated. The laser needs to travel down the hair shaft, therefore, when unshaven, the laser energy goes to waste and could potentially damage the skin and lead to pigmentation.

We recommend shaving a few times in between sessions.

We have disposable razors for such emergency cases. However, we may be unable to proceed with the treatment since we can’t always have the time to offer the shaving service.
After two to three weeks following Laser Hair Removal session, you will see hairs starting to shed. For the best results we recommend exfoliating twice a week.
